Niagara Cheerleading was established as the first non-scholastic cheerleading program in the Southern Niagara region by-request in 2004 as a recreational program for the Niagara Spears football team. The program quickly became the most respected cheerleading program in the Ontario Varsity Football League and the ultimate summer experience for girls 13 to 18 years old and fostered teams of more than 50 athletes each summer from 2004 to the present. The program offers community exposure and volunteer experiences to better enrich the lives of the youth who participate.

In 2006, due to popular demand for a new all-star cheerleading program that would encourage learning and foster the developing athlete, Niagara Cheerleading offered a competitive program, the Niagara All-Star Lady Kats. The program held just one senior all-star team that competed very successfully nationally.

The 2007-2008 season featured many accomplishments for the Niagara Cheerleading program. Not only did the program triple in size but both all-star teams were fierce competitors in both Canada and the United States all season long. The highest accomplishment, however, was when the International Open All-Girl team received a bid to and attended the 2008 Cheerleading Worlds - the Olympics of Cheerleading. Not only was the team one of the few to represent Canada at the world's most prestigious cheerleading competition but also enjoyed a team vacation in Disney World. The Niagara All-Stars International Open team was also the most "you-tubed" all-star cheerleading program in Canada with thousands of views in just days.

The 2008-2009 features many new elements to the Niagara Cheerleading program. For the first season, teams for ALL ages will be offered - the program is no longer just for the senior cheer athlete! Establishing itself as the premiere performing-athletics program in Canada, Niagara Cheerleading will also be offering dance teams for all ages.

In just two seasons, the Niagara Cheerleading program has established itself as one of the most successful all-star cheerleading programs in Canada because of HEART! The success of the program stems from the love and support that the staff, and coaches give every single athlete. Dedicated to providing each athlete with the ultimate cheerleading (and life!) experience, the staff diligently follows this mission through all their coaching practices. As family, coaches encourage athletes to treat each other as one family who all proudly wear the pink and black. Quite simply, the staff loves and believes in ALL Lady Kat athletes - this is the reason so many athletes return season after season!

Unlike other regional cheerleading programs, Niagara Cheerleading has a place for EVERYONE! No matter what your age, skill level or experience! The staff takes pride in training the novice and ultra-elite athlete into a CHAMPION.
